⏳ Site Maintenance

We’re updating our shop and will be back shortly.

While we’re away, here are the step‑by‑step instructions to apply your vinyl decal for best results.

1Prepare Surface and Decal

Use a damp cloth to clean the surface of any residue or dust particles—this is critical for adhesion. If the surface was recently painted, allow the paint to cure for at least 2 weeks before installing the decal.

Unroll the decal and lay it on a flat, hard surface. Use a squeegee or a credit card on both sides to smooth out wrinkles. If it won’t lay flat, weigh it down with books.

2Position Decal on Surface

Tape the decal in position and add a center hinge strip

Use painter’s or masking tape on the corners to hold the decal in place. Use a level or tape measure to ensure it’s straight. When positioned correctly, place one long strip of tape down the middle (shortest distance) to create a hinge.

3Transfer Decal to Surface

Peel backing paper and squeegee from center outward

With the decal taped to the surface, detach one side. Fold the decal over the center line and carefully peel back the backing paper, then cut it away.

If parts of the decal remain on the backing, lay it flat and press the area into the tape with your finger until it sticks. Take your time—don’t rush.

Using a squeegee or credit card, push the decal onto the surface using smooth, overlapping strokes from the center outward to avoid bubbles. Remove the center tape and repeat for the other side. For rough surfaces, wrap your squeegee in a soft cloth.

4Remove Transfer Tape

Peel transfer tape back at 180 degrees

After squeegeeing the decal onto the wall, slowly peel the transfer tape off. Start at a top corner and pull the tape back onto itself at 180°. Avoid pulling up at 45–90° as this can lift the decal. If lifting occurs, stop and rub the decal back onto the surface with your finger.

Special Considerations

Weather: Vinyl adheres best between 60–80°F (16–27°C). On very cold surfaces, adhesion suffers and vinyl may tear. If the surface is cold, gently warm it first. In direct sun or high heat, the decal can become overly sticky and difficult to position.

Wall Texture: Highly textured surfaces can reduce adhesion. After removing the transfer tape, gently rub the decal into the grooves with your fingers or a soft cloth.
